What restrictions? The beach is dog-friendly all year round, but dogs must be kept on a short lead on the main beach between 10am and 5pm in July and August.

With two miles of sandy shores, Watergate Bay Beach is popular with people and dogs alike! The stunning strip of golden sand has plenty of nearby parking and facilities such as toilets and cafes, making it a convenient choice for pet owners. Plus, Watergate Bay Beach is off-limits to dogs, allowing them to enjoy the sand and sea to their heart’s content, splashing in the waves or sniffing along the shore. Be aware that due to its proximity to Newquay, the beach can be full of surfers during peak months, although this also creates a fantastic atmosphere! It is also best to visit at low tide if you want to walk the entire beach, otherwise the waves can reach right up to the beach cafes. With stunning coastal views and exciting waves for surfers, Watergate Bay offers a lively time for your furry companion.
Porthcurno Beach in Cornwall is a stunning location that offers a fantastic day out for dog owners.
