Dog Friendly Cabin Qld – If you want to travel with your dog to Queensland but don’t have your own caravan or tent at the campsite, a good alternative is to stay in a pet cabin, usually in a caravan park. Although many cabins unfortunately do not allow pets, I have seen a variety of pet friendly cabins in Queensland, from the south of the country to the far north of Queensland.

Queensland’s southern Granite Belt wine region is a dog-friendly destination to visit, including the central town of Stanthorpe. Top of Town Tourist Park on the outskirts of the city offers a variety of accommodation options for pet owners, including affordable pet cabins.

Selected standard cabins are suitable for pets. Each studio-style cabin sleeps up to four people, with double and multiple beds, as well as a kitchen and bathroom. There are also some pet-friendly family cabins, which generally have a queen bed in a separate bedroom and a wood stove.
The park is just a short drive from the city center and includes a swimming pool, playground, covered barbecue area and plenty of space to walk your pup surrounded by bush.
If you’d rather hit the beach than holiday with your pup in Queensland, a caravan park on the Gold Coast is Kirra Beach Tourist Park. Just a short walk from the beach (and a short drive from the off-leash Palm Beach Dog Beach), dogs are allowed year-round in select powered locations and in their excellent dog cabins.
Two of the spacious two-bedroom cabins are set up as dog cabins. Each cabin balcony is covered and has a pet-proof mesh enclosure, perfect for casual dining, perhaps using the balcony fireplace. Dogs are welcome in at least 20 pet cabins in the park. Pet-friendly options include Studio Cozy Cabins, Cozy Cabins, two-bedroom cottages, two-bedroom family cabins, two-bedroom bungalows and terraces, which sleep between two and six people. Pets are not allowed in motel rooms or in some larger villas. Double check with the park or their website (see paw prints) if you are unsure.
Up to two calm and well-behaved dogs are allowed inside with you, free of charge, subject to prior reservation. Be sure to inform the park that you will bring a pet when booking and bring their vaccination papers.
A Dog Friendly Guide To North West Queensland
North Stradbroke Island is one of the dog-friendly islands off the coast of Queensland, with pets allowed on the ferries and an off-leash beach, as well as the beach on the island. The classic option is beach camping, 4WD only available, but there are also pet friendly cabins on North Stradbroke.
Book your stay at Sea Shanties at Amity Point, on the northern tip of the island. Five of the eight cabins are pet-friendly, with well-behaved dogs allowed. Elegantly decorated cabins can accommodate between two and six guests, each with its own kitchen and bathroom.

The caravan park is home to an off-leash dog park, complete with agility equipment, and there is a K9000 dog wash at the front of the property, essential for cleaning up after a sandy adventure. There is also a boat ramp on site, and the area is popular for fishing and crabbing.
Heading further north, for more pet-friendly cabins in Queensland, book a stay at the BIG4 Hervey Bay Holiday Park. In addition to being allowed in established campsites, pets are also allowed in select pet cabins.
Each open cabin can sleep up to four people, with double beds and some bunk beds. There is a small kitchen and bathroom, with all linens.

This park is conveniently located in Point Vernon. While dogs are allowed on leads at most beaches in the Hervey Bay area, Point Vernon Foreshore is largely off-leash. There are three separate off-leash areas, including a section between Aplin Street and Pines Park, near the campground.

The trailer park is just a few meters from the Nielson Park Dog Park located at the north end of Fred Coutice Avenue. Dogs are also allowed on the lead in part of the Bargara Foreshore approach from the Esplanade, although please note some signs indicating that dogs are not allowed.
A good place to stay with pets when driving north through Queensland is Mt Larcom Tourist Park. This park is conveniently located off the Bruce Highway, close to the Gladstone exit.
In addition to being allowed in all powered and unpowered locations in the park, pets are also allowed in park cabins, provided they are registered at the time of booking. A maximum of two pets are allowed per cabin, including inside, provided they stay away from the bed. Please note that puppies and kittens under 6 months of age are required to be confined.
There are two off-leash suitable areas in the park. One of them is towards the sunrise point, which you have to go with the “big picture frame” when the sun rises. On the other side there is another area, lower level – note that both are unfenced. Poop bags are also provided at each bin, and pet towels can be requested from the office.

One of the best caravan sites to stay in the heart of Charters Towers is Dalrymple Tourist Van Park, located 2km north of the town centre. The park backs onto the golf course, which is an unincorporated area, and offers pet-friendly cabins.

Each can accommodate up to four or six guests, with a queen-size bed or a queen-size bed with one or two pairs of bunk beds, and a kitchenette and bathroom with shower. Contact the park in advance to request a pet cabin, for an additional fee of $10 per pet per night.
Cairns is home to several dog-friendly caravan parks, although most do not allow pets in their cabins. If you’re looking for a pet friendly cabin, book at Cairns Cool Waters Holiday Park.
