However, many caravan parks and cabins in Australia do not allow dogs in their cabins, although they do allow them on site. It makes things difficult if you don’t have your own caravan or camper or even a tent.

If you want to stay in a cabin with your dog in NSW, I’ve put together a great list of pet friendly cabins in NSW. Most are caravan parks and some are just cabins. While this is not complete, we hope it gives you some ideas on where to go with your pup on your next vacation!

Many caravan parks near Sydney don’t allow pets, so it’s no surprise that there aren’t many pet-friendly cabins near Sydney. Check out these options available within two hours of Sydney.
It is a two-hour drive south of Sydney to Gerringong, south of Kiama. A great dog friendly caravan park is Wherry Beach Holiday Park. In addition to pets, the caravan park has three two-bedroom cabins for pets.
Reservations must be made directly when booking the dog cabin. Please note that dogs are only allowed in the park outside of peak NSW school and public holidays.

One of the best things about staying with your dog at Werri Beach Holiday Park is that you are directly opposite Werri Beach, which has plenty of reserves. Also nearby is a garden-free park and the dog-friendly Kiama Coastal Walk.
The second batch of Kiama Coast holiday parks, managed by Kiama Council, recently started allowing pets in some of the cabins. Individual two bedroom cabins at Surf Beach Vacation Park are pet friendly for an additional $25 per night.
The park is a short drive from downtown Kiama and the famous Blowhole. Note that dogs are not allowed on the nearby sandy beach, although there is a dog training area in the nearby Kaleula Reserve.
Reservations must be made directly by calling or emailing the park. As with Werri Beach Holiday Park, pets are only allowed out of season.

If you want to head north to Sydney, a great dog-friendly caravan park between the Central Coast and Newcastle is Blacksmiths Beachside Holiday Park. I have stayed in a camper at the park before, but there are also dog friendly cabins.
Both pet-friendly cabins have a doggy door to the covered porch, as well as a dog bed and water bowl. It is best to call to check the rules before booking as some breeds are prohibited. However, there is no limit to the peak period.
The park is a short walk from the Blacksmiths Beach patrol and a short walk (or long walk) from the dog friendly beach at the north end of town. There is a dog wash on site.

Check out the pet cabins at the NSW North Coast caravan park north of Port Stephens towards the Queensland border. They are one of the dog friendly beaches in NSW, perfect for traveling or relaxing on a beach in NSW.
There are not many pet-friendly cabins around Port Stephens, but one pet-friendly caravan park in the area is BIG4 Bays Holiday Park in Anna’s Bay, although unfortunately pets are not allowed during peak periods, including NSW school holidays and long weekend
In addition to being allowed in electric and non-electric areas, dogs are also allowed in individual cabins and trailers. Choose from two bedroom, studio and budget Betty cabins or the beautiful Daisy or Ruby caravans from Retro Caravans. Check their website for pet friendly options. The twin towns of Forster-Tuncurry are a great place to visit with your dog. There are many dog-friendly beaches and cafes, as well as some pet-friendly lodgings to stay with your pooch.
One trailer park that offers pet-friendly cabins is Lakeside Laney Holiday Island in Forster. Always recommended for dog owners, pets are allowed in individual cabins. Choose from pet-friendly cottages, villas and cabins, each sleeping up to four or five people. Double check if the laundry has been delivered.
They allow a maximum of two pets per booking, with no seasonal restrictions – come early if you want to enjoy your summer vacation with your dog!

Another great dog-friendly caravan park in Forster-Tuncurry is Discovery Parks – Forster, just north of town on the Daravank River. Dogs are available in the park year-round in designated areas and in individual kennels.
Dog friendly cabins are clearly marked on their website – look for the “Dogs Friendly” sign. Even the deluxe river cabins are pet friendly! Please note that there is an additional fee and that normally only one dog is allowed per reservation, but if you have two small dogs, please contact the administration again.
The park has plenty of additional dog-friendly options (though families will love the newly opened pool and splash park). There is a fenced, shaded dog park, self-service dog wash and dryer (for a fee), and a Discovery Barks market every Sunday at 8:00 am.
Further north, Diamond Waters Caravan Park is on the Camden Haven River near Lauriton, 40 minutes south of Port Macquarie. It is a beautiful place surrounded by bushes and dogs are welcome all year round but no cats to protect the local wildlife.

A very popular caravan park with pet owners is Reflections Holiday Parks on Moonee Beach, north of Coffs Harbour. Dogs are allowed in this caravan park all year round, both on pitches and in individual cabins.
Dog cabins include premium 4-bed cabins, premium 5-bed cabins and budget 6-bed cabins, as well as new Tiny Houses perfect for couples with small children. Dog-friendly options are clearly marked.
Although the park is dog friendly, there is a convenient dog wash facility near Moonee Beach. If you’re staying in Coffs Harbor for a while, there’s plenty to do with your dog.
Pet Friendly Cabins In Illinois
Just above Coffs Harbor and Moonee Beach is Woolgoolga, a holiday park on the shores of Lake Woolgoolga. Pets are welcome in the park most of the year, except for December 20 and January 14, and the Easter long weekend.
In addition to the pet-friendly area, pets are allowed in three different cabins: Water View Villas (marked as pets only), as well as the old-style Banksia Cabins and Lake View Cabins. Each cabin can accommodate five people.
Dogs are allowed off-leash on the adjacent beach – try to find Buster’s wrecked remains (see my Coffs Harbor guide) and on a leash at Woolgoolga Back beach outside the tern breeding season. There is also a new dog washing machine!
Yamba is a quiet and peaceful town on the Far North coast, but has all the amenities you need, including a large dog caravan park. BIG4 Saltwater Yamba welcomes pets year-round in powered or unpowered campsites and a growing number of cabins.
