Hate when you have to decide where to leave your dog on vacation? The struggle is real. I try to leave Simba with family members if possible. Fortunately, there is usually a family member available to watch Simba for a few days. I am not afraid to leave Simba with the family because the family loves him as much as I do.
He has been around a lot of our family and everyone gets along great. Everyone loves Simba! I like that he will have the opportunity to be with other dogs, with whom he plays regularly and knows his surroundings very well. He always has fun when we visit family. He loves attention.

Sometimes the hotel we stay in may not be pet friendly. I hope all hotels are pet friendly and there are pet friendly places everywhere so you don’t have to worry about where to leave your dog while you’re on holiday. It would be nice if that was the case then we could take Simba on his first beach trip, but this time we can’t.
Leaving Your Dog While On Holiday
Although my family and I wish we could take Simba with us, we know he will be safe with our family when we leave. Simba was great with family members while we were away, but he sure was happy to see us back!
Of course, we also love going back and forth with him. It is not good to leave your dog with people who are afraid of dogs or have no experience with dogs at all. You should try to leave your dog with someone who has his own dog (s) or at least has experience with dogs, loves dogs and knows your dog well enough.
If your family member or friend is not available, you can always house the dog. As always, you should do your research and visit the place before taking your dog and leaving him with a stranger. You should definitely look at reviews and ask people what they recommend.
Pet boarding houses or resorts are places where you can leave your dog overnight, for a few days, anywhere and even for a longer period of time. Your vet may offer boarding services, so check with your vet first as your dog is likely to be happy with the vet and their staff.
Keeping Your Animals Happy While On Vacation
If your vet doesn’t offer dog boarding, you can board your dog. If you like a one-on-one approach with your dog, where he will feel comfortable, you can try Rover. Don’t like the idea of housing your dog away from home? How about hiring a dog sitter? You can hire a sitter to watch your dog at your home or watch your dog at your home while you are away. You should also meet the handler beforehand and know how your dog interacts with him.
