I guess we could say we’re living in the golden age of glamping. It seems like a new glamsite or glamping site opens every five minutes these days.
Best Dog Friendly Glamping
But while glamping is a great stay, most resorts don’t allow dogs; this information is often buried deep in the “terms and policies” pages. (Has anyone gone crazy trying to find a hotel’s pet policy?)
The Best Dog Friendly Glamping Near Austin, Texas
As we start planning our 2020 summer vacation, I’m exploring a lot of glamping spots and wanted to share a list of places that are dog friendly. Whether you’re looking for an airstream adventure, a tiny house or a classic safari tent, we’ve got you covered.
Collective Retreats currently has five glamping locations across the country, but it’s the Yellowstone location that really stole our hearts. Just an hour from Yellowstone National Park, this resort offers fly fishing and horseback riding in spectacular scenery. Safari tents are equipped with electricity, high thread count sheets and s’mores kits. You can find Fido’s fine print under “Pricing and Policies.”
If you’ve always dreamed of owning an Airstream (guilty!), Autocamp is for you. With minimalist bright interiors and Ursa Major bath products, these Airstreams are definitely not your hippie uncle’s old camper. The best part is that this campground is close to warm destinations like Cape Cod, Yosemite, Sonoma, and Santa Barbara. Here’s more information about their (somewhat intense) dog policy.
For a comfortable stay in a tranquil lakeside setting, it doesn’t get better than Huttopia. Enjoy boating, kayaking or sitting by the pool at this rustic resort. Vaccinated dogs are accepted; details are here in the “Prices” section.
A Guide To Camping With Your Dog
Whether this little cabin is glamorous is debatable, but we love that it’s LEED certified, has a private fire pit, and offers easy access to Jackson Hole. Choose a Jeep Fireside rental package to maximize your stay. Dogs are allowed in some cabins. Read more here.
For a truly iconic, spectacular experience, you can’t beat Paws Up. This 37,000-acre resort offers all types of accommodations, but the luxury tents look quite nice. Pups will love the Pet Package, which includes a bed, bowl and ball, as well as a welcome message from the owner’s dog, locally made treats and a dog-friendly walk. See the full children’s policy here.
We’ve blogged about how much we love Getaway’s tiny houses in the past, and we’re looking at a new location in Portland for 2020. These houses are the perfect way to escape from nature while staying warm and dry. So how amazing is this bedside window? Dogs are accepted for an additional fee; details are here.
I can’t think of a better place to camp than Big Sur. You won’t feel disturbed as Ventana’s glamping sites are equipped with heated blankets and full access to the resort’s extensive facilities. Check out dog-friendly activity ideas and read the pet policy here.
Dog Friendly Lodges With Hot Tubs
Enjoy amazing views from a yurt in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. Thanks to the fully equipped kitchen, heating system and shower cabin, you’ll hardly remember you’re camping. Pet policy here.
How cute is little “lushna” at this new Catskills boutique hotel? With stunning mountain views and elegant decor, this A-frame is waiting to be featured on Instagram. You can find more information about children’s policies here.
We’re big fans of Firelight Camps, one of OG’s glamping sites. (I blogged about our stay with them at the time.) With easy access to wineries and dog-friendly hikes in the Finger Lakes, this was the perfect experience. Rover rules here.
With the campground in close proximity to some of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States (hello, Grand Canyon!), we were eager to plan a trip to one of these spectacular spots. The tent has EO toiletries, private bathroom and daily maid service. The dogs are here.
Dog Friendly Glamping In Scotland
Travel back in time with a stay in one of these classic caravans. The best part? They are located in the Willamette Wine Country. The trailers are equipped with pour-over coffee, plush bedding, and stylish bathrobes. They are very dog friendly and explain everything here.
If you haven’t heard of Tentrr, you’re missing out. I stayed with them twice (in Vermont and during a trip to Maine that I blogged about here) and each trip was amazing. Basically, they set up a luxury safari tent on an incredible plot of land. You can find more information about children’s policies here.
The Hudson Valley is beautiful enough, but when you add this little glass-walled cabin, it becomes truly magical. Two of the best lodges are pet friendly and you can find more details here.
