The first thing you need to do is find your platform that suits your needs and wants. Before confirming your holiday, check that there are dog-friendly apartments, then you can add your dog by calling the Eurocamp team.

Keep in mind that not all parks allow dogs, so check first. There are many dog-friendly accommodations. As usual – dogs are welcome in popular and relaxed places. We stayed in a classic caravan in France with our dog for the Easter holidays.

We stayed at La Croix du Vieux Pont in Paris over Easter when we planned to go to Paris and hoped we could take the kids to Disney Land Paris.

La Croix du Vieux Pont is dog friendly and dogs are allowed in the park and living areas. It goes without saying that the dog must be on a lead at all times and not around the pool or beach.

Supermarkets in France are amazing and pet stores are great too. You cannot bring meat products into France from the UK, so you should do your research to find a regular food supplier for your dog before you leave the UK.

There are a few things you need to prepare before you travel to France with your dog, and before returning to the UK with your dog.

Before you travel, do your research and check all the requirements to avoid stress.

There are a few things to consider if you are planning to take your dog to Eurocamp in France;

Dog fees are charged on site at some parks and dogs must be on a lead at all times.

Although the grounds are dog-friendly, there may be areas where dogs are not allowed, such as around swimming pools.

If you are traveling – check the rules at local beaches beforehand to make sure there are no dog restrictions for the year.

If you use public transportation, check the rules before you go to make sure dogs are allowed.

Make sure your dog can travel from the UK to France with an approved carrier on an approved route. We chose to travel by ferry from Great Britain to France. He must stay in the car as there are limited pet tickets on board. Fortunately, Wilf is a traveller. Before we got on the ferry we were sure we were in for a good walk. It’s comfortable, waterproof and has plenty of ventilation (we even left the window slightly open as advised). The car journey takes about 90 minutes. Our ferry trip from the UK to Guernsey was organized in the same way as our trip to our campsite.

See the requirements for traveling by public transport in France. We stayed at Camping La Croix Du Vieux Pont in the Eurocamp park just outside Paris and we knew in advance that larger dogs would need a Metro 9 ticket (50% of the normal price) also to be blocked.

Top Tips For Foreign Holidays With Your Dog!

Camp La Croix Du Vieux Pont offered a day trip to Paris and the camp bus company agreed to take Wilf on the bus to Paris with us which was a wonderful surprise. When we were in Paris we discovered that many restaurants and cafes were dog friendly, especially when we were out and about (we asked first).

We also went to Disneyland with the dog and their pet sitting service was great because we were able to spend the day at Eurocamp Paris with the kids. Petting service is first-come, first-served and is located near the main entrance. One thing to note is that this service cannot be booked and is busy on weekends and holidays. It costs 25 euros per day and we can visit as much as we want and walk around Wilf all day. You will need the vaccination certificate and the health certificate in your possession, so don’t forget the documents!

100% yes. I was amazed at the dog love at our Eurocamp Parc in France and Wilf had a great holiday. It’s easy to prepare a health certificate – although it’s expensive because it can only be used for one trip, but it’s for the family, and we like to take it everywhere.
