The park is regulated by the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act due to its important natural and cultural features. However, because it is an important resource for human recreation, pets are not allowed in the park. In general, pets must be on a leash longer than 2 meters (about 6.5 feet), even in places where pets are allowed, and not at most swimming pools or beaches.
Pets are allowed in all provincial parks in Ontario, with a few exceptions noted below. That said, some places are better suited to entertaining outdoor pets than others.
