If you want to explore a ghost town with your dog, you’re in luck. Ouray has many ghost towns to visit.

One of the easiest to get to (with lots of buildings to see) is Ironton. Located between Silverton and Ouray, this ghost town is a fun visit for history buffs and nature lovers. Ironton is part of the Red Mountain Mining District, which includes several towns on both sides of the Red Mountain Range. It became an important point between the mining camps of Ouray and the Red Mountain region, but as time passed and mining declined, the town was abandoned. Today, the city receives many visitors from adventurous travelers (and their four-legged friends).
Are you thinking of traveling to explore the best cities? That’s great – explore without trying to drive a jeep! This is one of the most popular outdoor activities in the area, and if you bring your jeep, you can get up and go with your child whenever you want. Many of the best trails start right at your doorstep in Ouray.
No Jeep, no problem – there are plenty of Jeep rentals in the area, including American Switzerland and Colorado West. Your furry friend can come with you, just make sure you call and let them know when you book your jeep as you will be paying a small pet fee.
Bring your pet to cool off at the beach at the Ridgway Off-Leash Dog Swimming Area in Ridgway. It’s great for hot summer days when it’s too hot to do anything else. You and your child can find a space just north of the library on North Railroad Street. Note that this is not a park, so dogs must be under sound control at all times. Bring a hook, a trash bag, and some treats for you and your pet and enjoy a great day by the Uncompahgre River!

For me, driving is the easiest and most comfortable way to travel with a pup. Louie and I have taken many dog-friendly trips in Europe, but our experience in the US is limited. This is about to change.
Louie and I will be spending most of March on a California road trip! Starting in the San Francisco Bay area, we will travel through Napa Valley to Humboldt Redwoods State Park. After a few days in Mendocino County, I will begin driving south in the State of California on Route 1. I hope to follow the famous coastal road to San Diego.

Our trip to California will take Louie and I to Pacific Ocean, Jenner, Santa Cruz and Cambria. There will be extended stays (and laundry) in the friendly towns of Carmel, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Laguna Beach. Or at least that’s the plan now.

One of the benefits of traveling with your dog is the freedom to do it yourself. You can stop when needed and find interesting places along the way. Owning a car also gives a child a safe and familiar place to relax.
I always use the back seat cover when traveling with Louie. The hammock style does the best job of protecting both the car and the dog. I also use a special safety harness to keep my dog in place. Bringing home a good blanket makes the back seat more comfortable.
Putting together a great dog-friendly trip takes work. Fortunately, there are excellent resources available on the Internet. Some of my favorites are:
Join Frenchman Louie Vuitton and his mother as they explore dog-friendly restaurants, attractions and hotels around the world! Good customer service, like a smile, goes a long way and costs nothing, especially in entertainment, recreation and tourism. We Brits have to put up with very poor customer service. In fact, we are famous all over the world for making it. Fawlty Towers is funny until the day you get the same level of real customer service.

Hotels have a habit of looking for your behavior, telling you how good they are and what extra they offer over their competition to encourage you to come in.
We have often stayed in good and bad hotels, but I will tell you about an industry experience that might surprise you. All hotels, no matter how good they are, whether they are luxury or brick and mortar hotels, do not provide good customer service.
This includes hotels, motels, private hotels, etc. who never market themselves as “friendly dogs” and are really, at best, “just sick dogs.” It is not more important than the situation.
As the owner of two well-behaved, non-lethal, non-poisonous dogs, I have to take them outside and get pregnant every chance I get.

They are happy for me to do it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those annoying dog owners who force my other dogs or let them jump on you and tell you not to bother them or not. Regardless of your fears and concerns, any (serious) injury is clear. Dog owners and non-dog owners, we’ve all experienced it
No, I am a normal boss who enjoys walking with dogs and makes him happy whenever and wherever he wants to go with me.
This also applies to holidays. I don’t use a salon. Nothing against them – I used to work in a hostel – not for me.
I like the dog to take a break from the routine, see new places, and dig a hole in a new place where no holes have been dug. I like my dogs to have as much fun as I do and come home feeling like they’ve had new experiences in new places, met new people, and left new places.
Your Guide To Dog Friendly Travels
I am not a ‘do or die’ person. As for the bedroom, I had nothing to do with them as I gathered the bricks and mortar around me when the rain started. That means when I leave, I have to find a friendly hotel, bed and breakfast or similar accommodation. Thanks to the internet and all the books full of dog friendly shelters, I can go anywhere and take my dog with me.
But there is a problem and it is a big problem; and many self-proclaimed pet-friendly hotels and other accommodation providers are downright pet-friendly when it comes. I am sorry for the punishment you are thinking, when I put it another way.
What some companies mean when they describe themselves as “pet friendly”, I prefer to translate “pet friendly”.
In other words, they accept forced animals, but only when
