We’re out the door. I’m very good at jumping into the car by myself and he says I’m a good girl. I love cars because they are magical. Mum and I go in and we sit for a while and then we end up together in a surprising place. Sometimes it’s one of my favorite places, and sometimes it’s a completely new place.
We go and go and go. It seems like years and years. We make a few stops so I can go to the restroom. This is really unusual. where can we go
I stick my head out the window. Gosh, it’s cold outside! And no two scents are the same. This is somewhere new! The main highway is gone and the roads are more winding. Oh… now I get it! We’re going to the mountains!
We get out of the car in a beautiful hut. Lots of new perfumes. I’m so excited! After a few minutes of unpacking, Mom puts me in the car and we drive to a place called The Ugly Dog in the cashiers. I wonder if only ugly dogs are allowed in, because if so, I’m not allowed. I am very beautiful. Mom says The Ugly Dog is just an expression, and all dogs are welcome to eat with their owners on the outdoor patio. So I spend time with my mother while she eats and drinks. Then we drive back to the hut. I need some sleep before going out on new adventures!

We had breakfast and returned to the car. This is so exciting! Car rides are my favorite and we keep it going. I stick my head out the window. We are on a street with beautiful Christmas lights everywhere. I heard my mother say it was Highlands Main Street.
We park and start walking. We go to shops and everyone in the shop greets me and pet me. Mum says if I’m good, we’ll get something tasty, so I make sure I’m very good.
Dogs come and go in a shop on the High Street. We walk in and it’s a store for me! There are toys and things everywhere! These are the Paws of the Highlands Mountain. My mom goes to the treat buffet and fills a bag with natural treats for me while I greet a new poodle friend at the store. She also picks up a new rope toy. After we check out, we get back in the car and I enjoy one of my treats…but not for long!
We get to the car and minutes later we’re at the Highlands Dog Park! There are many dogs I can play with. I take him with the Australian Shepherd and we run and run and run through the dog park. Mum brings the rope toy she bought for me at Highlands Mountain Paws and the Australian Shepherd Lucy, and I start playing my favorite game: tug of war.
