Best Pet Friendly Resorts Massachusetts – Looking for dog friendly hotels in New England? I hate leaving my dog Roscoe at home when I travel. After all, the holidays are more fun when you can bring your best friend. But finding a dog-friendly hotel in New England requires a lot of research. What is the hotel’s dog policy? I’ve compiled a comprehensive list of my favorite dog-friendly hotels in New England where Roscoe has stayed. So you don’t have to leave your best friend behind the next time you hit the road. Put your feet up in some of the coziest places to stay in New England.

Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, Basin Harbor believes no family vacation is complete without four-legged family members. Cape Cod Pet Friendly Vacation Rentals
This resort has everything you need for the perfect vacation without ever having to leave your sprawling 700 acres. Choose from a range of fun activities for the whole family, from land to lake. The guest pool and boardwalk are pet-free areas, but dogs have their own bathing spot at Fanny’s Beach. We were even able to rent a sailboat to go out on the lake with Roscoe! You can also dine at one of the resort’s five restaurants. Dogs are not allowed in the dining areas, but they can dine with you in Red Mill’s free seating area. Dog walking and daycare are also available if you want to have fun without Fido.
From land to water, Basin Harbor has plenty of dog-friendly things to do.
Field Guide Lodge Stowes is an elegant boutique hotel managed by Lark Hotels. Like many of their properties, their pet policy allows dogs under 70 pounds for an additional fee of $50 per dog per day. We stayed in one of their three dog-friendly, cottage-style suites with lots of space and a private entrance. You can book these suites online, just add a note at checkout with your dog’s quantity, size and name. Dogs must not be left alone in the room. Out of respect for other guests, dogs are only allowed on a leash on the outside verandas and public areas of the hotel.
This hotel stands out for its stylish and elegant furnishings. The lobby lounge, comfortably furnished with retro wood-burning stoves and cozy leather covers, invites you to spend time with a book or a board game. You can enjoy breakfast in the lobby café or drinks and snacks in the new vintage ski bar Après Only. The outdoor hot tub needs to be reserved in advance, which is a bit inconvenient. But the advantage is that you are guaranteed for yourself. And the location can’t be beat. We could walk to the center and the mountain bus stopped right in front of the hotel. It’s the perfect base for you and your child’s Vermont adventures.
Pet Friendly Hotel Provincetown Ma
The Inn at Mountain View Farm is a very special place to stay in the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Per pet policy, dogs are allowed in select rooms: Peacham, Danville, N. Danville, Maidstone and Lost Nation for $50 per night. You can select “Pet Friendly” to reserve your room online. The inn is so pet-friendly that there’s a friendly golden retriever working at the front desk and there’s even an animal shelter on site. Be aware if your dog reacts with other animals!
We stayed in the Deluxe Peacham room which was cozy but comfortable. Roscoe especially liked falling asleep in front of the wood-burning fireplace. In the morning he welcomed us in the main building of the inn with cakes and coffee warm from the oven. Just when we thought we couldn’t eat any more, the innkeeper brought out stacks of their famous farm-fresh blueberry pancakes that we couldn’t resist.
Located on a 400 acre mountain range in the pristine Northeast Kingdom, this historic farm is one of the most picturesque places I’ve ever been. It was worth getting up early to see the sunrise, the pastel pinks and violets in full view. over the mountains and the morning fog settles into the valley.
The Kimpton Taconic in Manchester has one of the most liberal pet policies I’ve come across. Everyone is welcome, from furry to feathered, as long as they can fit in the elevator! No size, weight, breed or number of pets allowed, and there are no additional deposits or fees. Simply filter by pets when booking online and fill out the pet form at check-in.
Paw Fectly Pet Friendly Places
The Kimpton Taconic is truly the perfect place to pamper your dog. The rooms have food bowls, toys, treats and an Orvis soft dog bed. (The Orvis flagship store down the street is a must with your dog). Dogs are allowed in the hotel’s Copper Grouse restaurant lobby and porch dining area. During the colder seasons, they have outdoor heaters to ensure that both you and your pups are warm. In addition, you can request pet services including but not limited to pet sitting, dog walking and pet spa services by contacting the front desk.
Made Inn Vermont in downtown Burlington is a home away from home for you and your pet. The pet policy at this chic urban boutique bed and breakfast welcomes well-behaved furry friends for $25 per day per pet. You can book directly online, be sure to add your dog to your guest count and add details in the notes.
We stayed in room 904, one of the larger rooms recommended for larger dogs. Roscoe was even pretty cozy and the bathrooms are down the hall (though at least private). The inn’s quirky character may not be for everyone, but it’s in a great location, within walking distance of the city centre. The owner is very friendly and offers recommendations for pet friendly restaurants and things to do in Burlington.
Located between Killington and Rutland in central Vermont, Mountain Top Resort is not only dog-friendly, it puts them first. Their pet policy states that canine companions are welcome in the resort’s four luxury cabins and selection of guest houses, complete with Vermont-made biscuits, beds and bowls. You can book for an additional fee of $50 per night per dog, with a maximum of two dogs per unit. Dogs must be registered at the time of booking.
Sandwich Lodge & Resort
The inn invites you to “come and see, stay and experience”. Nestled in the middle of the Green Mountains on 700 acres of land, this resort offers incredible views of Chittenden Reservoir. With direct access to this great outdoor playground, there’s no shortage of fun things to do with your dog all year round. During the warmer months, you can enjoy the private beach with free kayak, canoe and paddle board rentals. In winter and spring, check out the cross-country skiing and snowshoe hiking trails. Dine alfresco with your dog on the deck, which offers gorgeous meadow, lake and mountain views by day and a cozy fire pit by night.
The Stowehof is my dog-friendly hotel in Stowe. You can call to reserve the dog-friendly rooms on the first floor, which allow dogs of all sizes for $25 per night and have direct access to the hotel’s expansive lawn.
This warm and cozy accommodation is built on wooden beams and has wonderful views of the mountains. It feels like an authentic Alpine holiday, timeless and comforting. It seems as if the world has changed all around, but The Stowehof will forever be a familiar place to call home away from home.
With simple but clean rooms, it’s also one of Stowe’s more affordable hotel options. Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, so go elsewhere for breakfast. But grab a drink at The Fritz Bar and get cozy with your pup. Choose between playing a board game in the large living room, reading a good book in front of the large sunken fireplace, or stargazing by the outdoor fireplace.
