This round-trip hike starts on Mulholland Drive and is approximately 2 miles round trip. It has a wide dirt road with a few curves from the paved road to the former military reservation. It’s a fairly easy walk, with level ground, beautiful views, and some elevation gain.
The walk takes about an hour. If you and your dog are in good shape You can do it faster. If you want to spend some time exploring the rocket site (it’s worth it), you can take that into consideration as well.
There are many more dog-friendly trails from the Rocket area. So if you want to walk a long distance. Make sure you choose one. From the Canyonback Trail to the West Mandeville Fire Road and Mulholland Drive, there are plenty of options.
