Pet Friendly Perth: The 6 Best Ways To Enjoy Your Furkids

There are plenty of fun day trips from Perth, from driving through the Pinnacles Desert to exploring ancient thrombolites in Yalgorup National Park.

However, not all day trips are completely family-friendly. Many national parks and public spaces are pet-free zones, which means your four-legged best friend can’t accompany you on your adventures.

The good news is that if you take one of these 11-day tours, your dog is welcome.

Although national parks are generally pet-free, there are still plenty of trails and walks outside of Perth that welcome well-behaved, reserved dogs. The 1872 Railway Heritage Trail in Jarrahdale is one of these. The 10km walk is long but beautiful and passes through native jarrah trees and wandoo bush. Start from the small car park on Nettleton Road and follow the old wooden tramway around Gingagup Creek to return to your starting point.

When they’re not interested in playing with the agility equipment strewn around or digging in the sandbox, there are always other dogs in the park to keep them entertained.

Dogs must be on a leash when they leave the dog park and walk about 1.5 miles around the nearby wetlands. Since there are lots of birds and grazing horses nearby, you don’t want them to be tempted to run off and play.
