There are cascading waterfalls, towering cliffs and sand caves just begging to be explored. And pets are welcome in most areas of the park, including the campgrounds.

Dog Friendly Camping In Ohio On The Shore Of Lake Erie
Ash Cavern, the largest in the state, is accessed through a narrow valley lined with sagebrush, beech, hardwoods and wildflowers. The Old Man Cave area offers sights for all photography enthusiasts – canyons, cliffs, ravines, rivers, waterfalls and tunnels. Cedar Falls rewards hikers with views of a remote, rock-walled canyon punctuated by caves and waterfalls.
To be safe, keep pets on leashes and bring plenty of water for you and your pet. Picnic areas offer interesting rest stops along the way.
Hocking Hills is home to a variety of wildlife, from raccoons, deer and moose to moose, foxes and birds. Many of the park’s cabins are pet-friendly and offer stations where vacationers can pet the animals up close.

While staying in Hocking Hills, Great Expectations Library and Cafe (Note: Unfortunately, Great Expectations is closed) and Millstone BBQ, both located in Logan, offer friendly dining. Also in Logan, dogs can help shop at Grandpa Faye’s store. And they can join you at Tractor Supply Company, where you can find pet food and supplies.

Just over 30 minutes from downtown Cleveland, Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park is another place with a dog-friendly beach. At the east end of the beach you will find it marked with “Dog Swimming Area”.
Dogs are allowed in this area, but otherwise are not allowed on the sandy stretch of beach and must be on a leash in all other areas.
Another lakeside beach that welcomes pets is Lakewood Beach Park on Sheffield Lake, about 30 minutes outside of downtown Cleveland.
Dogs are allowed to run on a leash and splash around the water at Lakewood Beach Park. Although this beach is smaller than the others, it is a dog-friendly place if you are in the area.
